Name and Rooming Lists
Correct list of all participants written as in the passport shall be delivered at confirmation of booking.
Deposit
A deposit of 10% of the tour price is required within 7 days from confirmation of a booking if not agreed differently. When price includes international flights a deposit of 25% is required. We recommend at this time all passengers take out comprehensive travel insurance.
Terms of Payment
Full payment (less deposit) shall reach North Rovers at least 6 weeks prior to arrival of guests. In case of further delay on payments, North Rovers will reserve the right to treat this as a cancellation and withdraw its confirmation of the services. North Rovers accepts credit card payments through Visa or Mastercard with 3.5% additional bank charge.

Validity of Prices
After the invoice for a custom tour has been issued the price is guaranteed against any surcharge, unless an increase is due to government laws or currency changes. North Rovers will absorb an increase of 10% of the package price due to government laws or currency changes after the invoice has been issued until it has been balanced. Amounts which exceed these 5% will be charged but clients will be entitled to cancel their booking with a full refund. After the invoice has been balanced no increase of the price is possible.
Cancellation
All cancellations must be made by e-mail or letter. In conformity with general business practices within the Icelandic travel industry, the travel agent is obliged to charge cancellation fees to passenger(s) as follows (in addition to deposit):
More than 6 weeks prior to arrival: None
Less than 6 weeks and more than 4 weeks: 15%
Less than 4 weeks and more than 2 weeks: 25%
Less than 2 weeks and more than 72 hours: 50%
Less than 72 hours and more than 24 hours: 75%
Less than 24 hours notice: 100%
Liability
North Rovers disclaims responsibility for any loss, damage, accident, sickness or schedule change caused by weather, strike or any other irregularity outside North Rovers control. North Rovers reserves the right to alter routes, itineraries or departure times, without prior notice, should the necessity arise. We advise all clients to have insurance, as clients are on their own responsibility on optional tours, such as riding tours and snow scooter tours
Tailor-made itineraries
Upon request North Rovers offers tailor-made itineraries for individuals, for a special service fee of 150,- €. The fee includes a day by day program for the traveller.
Change fee
If one requests changes to pre-made packages (i.e. self-drive packages), such as adding nights into the program, changing hotels or dates a change fee of 100.*-* € will be charged.
Please note that there is no fee is for booking additional nights in Reykjavík before or after a tour/package.
Last minute change fee
If a confirmed service is changed less than two weeks prior to arrival of the client, a* *last* *minute change fee of 100.- € will be charged.
Children´s Discounts
Scheduled Tours, Day Tours and Domestic Flights:
Infants 0-1 year are free of charge.
Children 2-11 years sharing a room and/or traveling with a guardian will receive 50% discount from the listed price.
Self-drive packages
Infants 0-1 years are free of charge.
Children 2-11 years: Special children rate applies to all packages if sharing a room with a guardian. Rate according to price list.
Accommodation
Children 0-5 years: Accommodation and breakfast free of charge, if sharing a room with guardian.
Children 6-11 years: Charge for children's extra bed according to price list. Please note that the room should be booked as only for the guardian/s, if the child reduction is to apply. I.e. for 1 adult and 1 child, you need to book a single room plus extra bed and for 2 adults and 1 child, you book a double room plus extra bed.
Applicable Law
This tour contract is subject to Icelandic law only.
All complaints must reach North Rovers within 5 days from departure from Iceland. Otherwise possible compensation is not valid.

Special Terms regarding Car Hire/Self Drive Holidays in Iceland.
The driver must present a valid driver's licence held for a minimum of one year at the time of rental.
An International Driving Permit (IDP) / International Driving License (IDL) is also required if your national driver's licence is not in Roman script. This is recommended for translation purposes and may only be used in conjunction with a national driving licence.
For vehicles for 9 passenger or more, driving licence D is requested.
Third Party Liability
Third-party liability insurance and accident insurance for owner and driver will consist of the amount stipulated by Icelandic law at any given time. The Renter's own risk (also termed as "deductible", i.e., the amount that must be paid out of pocket by the Renter for covered losses before an insurance company pays a claim) with regard to damage to the vehicle amounts up to the full value of the vehicle.
Collision Damage Waiver ( CDW )
This option limits your financial liability for damage to the vehicle, its parts and accessories, except theft, attempted theft or vandalism, provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.
If CDW is declined, you will be responsible for damage up to the full value of the vehicle.
CDW Non-Waivable Excess.
All rentals are subject to a non-waivable excess (N.W), ranging from ISK 70,000.00 to ISK 100,000.00 depending on the vehicle group rented, for which you are responsible in the event of damage to the vehicle during the rental.
If you choose to rely on your credit card for cover, we strongly recommend that you fully understand the terms and conditions of any cover provided by your credit card company before you decline any of our optional services.
Super Collision Damage Waiver ( SCDW )
The purchase of SCDW reduses the non-waivable amount of CDW to ISK 10.000 for passenger cars and ISK 25.000 for all other vehicles.
Collision Damage Waiver ( CDW ) & Super Collision Damage Waiver ( SCDW ) does NOT Cover:
a. Intentional damage or damage due to gross negligence on the part of the driver.
b. Damage resulting from the driver being under the influence of alcohol, stimulants or sedatives, or in any other way incapable of driving the vehicle in a safe manner.
c. Damage due to race or test driving.
d. Damage due to war, revolution, civil unrest and riots.
e. Damage done by animals.
f. Holes burned into seats, carpets, or mats.
g. Damage affecting only wheels, tires, suspension, batteries, glass (other than windows), radios, or loss by theft of parts of the vehicle and damage resulting from this.
h. Damage caused by driving on rough roads to the vehicle's transmission, drive and other parts that are in or attached to the chassis; damage to the chassis resulting from the vehicle scraping bottom on rough roads, e.g., ridges being left by road graders; stones lodged in the road surface or on the shoulder of the road. The same applies to damage occurring when stones are thrown up, striking the underside of the vehicle during driving.
i. Damage resulting from driving in places where vehicle traffic is banned, such as on paths, tracks,
banks of snow, ice, unbridged rivers or streams, beaches, places only accessible at low tide, or other trackless areas. However, payment of an own risk fee will cover damage due to the driver being forced to leave the road, e.g., due to road repairs.
j. Damage to 2wd vehicles that occur when driving on roads marked F on official maps and KJÖLUR road nr. 35 and KALDIDALUR road nr. 550.
k. Damage caused by sand, gravel, ash, pumice, or other kinds of earth material being blown onto the vehicle.
l. If the vehicle is transported by sea, a payment of an own risk fee does not cover damage caused by sea spray/seawater.
m. Damage and loss that the Lessor suffers if the vehicle is stolen.
n. Water damage to the vehicle.
Theft Protection (TP)
This option limits your financial liability for loss or theft of the vehicle, its parts and accessories, provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.
If TP is declined, you will be responsible for the cost of repairing or replacing the vehicle lost or damaged, following theft, attempted theft or vandalism up to the full value of the vehicle.

All rentals are subject to a non-waivable excess fee, ranging from ISK 70,000.00 to ISK 100,000.00, depending on the vehicle rented, for which you are responsible in case of loss or theft of the vehicle during the rental.
